Scripture Union Glenhaven subscribes to the following values.

>> Dependence on God In everything we do we are committed to an obvious, practical dependence on God with a practical acknowledgement of the Lordship of Christ and a reliance on the leading of God’s Spirit especially through the Scriptures and prayer.

>> Bible Based We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired and is the supreme authority for faith and life and all SU activities will be conducted in a manner consistent with these emphases.

>> Evangelistic Zeal Our deep longing is that children and young people should be brought to Christ and wherever possible and with proper teaching we will encourage and challenge people to become Christians and to grow in holiness, in participation in church life and social awareness. Our evangelism will be sensitive, respecting both the individual and the family.

>> Relational Ministry Our ministry will be characterised by the building of personal relationships and winning the right to speak.

>> People Orientation Our biblically derived belief is that all people are precious to God. This will be seen through our respect for the individual and our concern for the whole person. We are people people.

>> Commitment to Excellence We are committed to high standards and to giving our best, because we serve a God who does all things well.

>> Partnership We are committed to a partnership between staff and voluntary workers. An effective balance of leading and following characterises their mutual interdependence. SU staff are committed to being both leaders and enablers.

>> Innovation We are committed to matching changing needs and times with innovative ideas and programmes. Our response to change will, however, be tempered with perseverance.

>> Serving We are committed to imitating Christ by our attitude of servanthood to God, the Church and people in general.

>> Responsible financial policy Scripture Union is a registered non profit organisation. We will sensitively share the needs of the work with supporters and potential supporters. In general we will not spend money we cannot expect to receive. Nevertheless, we will be open to stepping out in faith, under the guidance of God’s Spirit.
